Traffic Exchanges offer a great free way of promoting your business. They should be included in your advertising arsenal but make sure that you leverage your time effectively and you don’t surf for hours for those advertising credits. Targeting A Niche Market

Targeting a niche provides focus for your website and has great appeal to search engines as it gives them a better idea of the sort of traffic they should send you. Try to determine where your market is. Are they parents? Retirees? Home owners? Pet lovers? If you are selling art supplies you may find hobby sites will cater to your audience. If you sell information for do-it-yourself projects you could show up in home decorating as well as financial sites (‘Save Money on Home Building Projects!’ for example).

Time to Examine Your Business Blueprint

All businesses need a plan or blueprint. If you don’t have a plan, you will end up building the great tower of Babel. Every great project, business etc etc…start with a great plan. Think Like Your Customer And You Will Win

How do you think like a customer? That’s easy just be yourself. You’re a customer every single day of your life so just put in your business efforts what you like to see when you are buying from someone. If you are selling a service just ask yourself how I would want to be treated or what would I like to see in the offer if I were to buy this service. If it’s a hard good, then what do you look for in when you buy? Is it customer service, is it quality, craftsmanship, warranty, after sales service, life of the product. Don’t sell or try to sell something that you wouldn’t be caught dead buying yourself.

Make it Clean and Simple

For once in life it’s not the complicated way that you will succeed. On the net being simple about things is the way to go.

While a great Look does not make a sale, it does set a positive mindset, which sets the stage for an exchange. In other words, an effective Look or style if you wish makes people more receptive to your sales message.

No Traffic = No sales

The next problem is that most small online business owners usually have little money and not a lot of time to generate traffic and visitors to their site…. Many of them spend 6-8 hours every day just trying to generate some traffic to their site, product or service. And, at the end of each month, because nothing they seem to try ever works very well, they find themselves no better off than they were the month before. It doesn’t take them long to realize what a big waste of time doing it that way really is.

If You Build It, They Will Come…

…No they won’t. On the web, building a web site is not enough. If there are no links to the site anywhere, no-one is going to visit it. The site won’t even be listed in any of the search engines without some incoming links. To get traffic, you will need to do some promotion.
